Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor who ruled from 161 to 180 AD. He was born on April 26, 121 AD, in Rome, Italy. Aurelius is considered one of the most important Stoic philosophers, and his writings, particularly his book “Meditations,” are still widely read and studied today. Aurelius was known for his intellect and his military prowess, having led Roman armies against various foreign enemies during his reign. He was also known for his adherence to Stoic philosophy, which emphasized living in accordance with reason and virtue. Aurelius died on March 17, 180 AD, while on a military campaign in present-day Austria.
